Prevention Tips
- Eat a healthy diet — prioritize fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts; reduce processed food, excess oil, salt, and sugar
- Stay physically active — at least 30–45 minutes of daily activity (walking, running, yoga)
- Avoid tobacco and alcohol completely — including secondhand smoke exposure
- Manage mental health — practice meditation, deep breathing, and aim for 7–8 hours of sleep
- Limit sun exposure — avoid direct sun between 10 AM–4 PM, use sunscreen, hats, or umbrellas outdoors
- Reduce exposure to environmental toxins — minimize plastic packaging and pesticide-heavy produce where possible; drink filtered or boiled water
- Get regular health screenings — especially important if there’s a family history of cancer, or if you notice any symptoms above
